Granite County Medical Center Offers a Range of Cancer Screenings
Granite County Medical Center (GCMC) is proud to offer a variety of cancer screening services right here in our community. And with National Cancer Prevention Month in February, there’s no better time to schedule your screening!
Cancer screening can often detect cancer before symptoms appear, which significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and survival rates. Below are the cancer screening tests currently offered at GCMC.
Breast Cancer Screening
The St. James Mammogram Bus will be on-site on February 24. If you’re due for a mammogram (recommended every 2 years for women aged 40-74), please call 406-723-2950 to schedule your appointment.
Lung Cancer Screening
If you’re a smoker aged 50-80 with a history of smoking 20+ packs a year or have quit within the last 15 years, we offer a low-dose CT scan to help catch any concerns early.
Colorectal Cancer Screening
GCMC offers several options to fit your needs:
- Take-home stool kits (recommended annually during your check-up).
- Cologuard®, an advanced test mailed to your home (every 3 years).
- Colonoscopy referrals (every 5-10 years based on previous results).
Screenings start at age 45 — call to discuss which option best fits your needs.
Cervical Cancer Screening
Pap smears are available with or without HPV testing. Women aged 21-65 are recommended to have a screening every 3 years.
Skin Cancer Screening
GCMC provides full skin checks and can perform biopsies if needed to ensure your skin stays healthy.
Preventative care is the best care — let’s prioritize your health together! For more information about cancer screenings or to schedule an appointment, contact GCMC at (406) 859-3271.
